This is the shelf most parents and teachers come looking for, and it has grown from a handful of 1980s folktale retellings into real abundance, including picture books by major Hmong authors. Some titles are English only, some are bilingual English and Hmong, and we mark that distinction on every book because it decides how a family can read together. Dia's Story Cloth and The Most Beautiful Thing are both proven read-alouds to start with.
