Nyob zoo — welcome
One shelf for every Hmong book.
Hmong stories are scattered — a children’s book here, a war history there, a dictionary buried on page nine of search results. Hmong Bookstore gathers them onto one shelf, so readers, parents, and teachers can actually find them.
The “store” in our name is the shelf, not the register — every book links out to Bookshop.org, Amazon, or the publisher directly, and a buy link appears only after its availability has been verified. You pay the seller’s price; if you buy through our links we may earn a small commission that keeps the shelf growing.
What belongs on the shelf
- By Hmong authors — memoir, fiction, poetry, and everything in between.
- About Hmong life — history, culture, the Secret War, and the diaspora.
- For young readers — picture books, folktales, and bilingual editions.
- For learners — dictionaries, courses, and guides to reading and writing Hmoob.
Affiliate disclosure
Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links — buying through them may earn Hmong Bookstore a small commission, at no extra cost to you. Commissions never decide what appears in the catalog, and no prices are shown anywhere on this site; the seller’s price is the only price. Read the full disclosure.
Curated by hand, corrected fast
Every book here was chosen, researched, and annotated by one person — Keeneng Vang. Nothing publishes without an original editorial note, and culturally significant fields like dialect and orthography are set by hand after checking the actual book, never guessed by software.
Mistakes get fixed. If a dialect or orthography is classified wrongly, an author’s name is mis-romanized, a link is dead, or a description misses the point, email hmongbookstorecom@gmail.com and it will be corrected. Cover images are used with attribution under standard publisher-promotional norms; any rights holder who wants one removed can use the same address and it will be taken down promptly.
