Hmong spiritual life spans shamanic practice, ancestor and soul-calling ritual, and, for many families, Christianity adopted in Laos or in the diaspora, often side by side in one household. The books here range from ethnographies of shamanism to accounts of religious change after resettlement. Read them alongside the health shelf; in Hmong tradition healing and spirit are not separate subjects.
