Kao Kalia Yang

Kao Kalia Yang is a Hmong American writer born in the Ban Vinai refugee camp in Thailand and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. Her memoirs The Latehomecomer and The Song Poet brought Hmong family history to a national readership, and her picture books, including The Most Beautiful Thing and Yang Warriors, extend that work to children. She is among the most widely read Hmong authors writing in English.
