Martha Aladjem Bloomfield

Martha Aladjem Bloomfield is an American author and oral historian who documents immigrant and refugee communities in Michigan through interviews, photographs, and archival research. Her books favor the voices of the people involved over scholarly framing, and tend toward smaller communities that fall outside the better-known settlement stories, on the principle that a history assembled from one state's overlooked arrivals is worth having alongside the national account.
