English-Hmong Phrasebook with Useful Wordlist

A phrasebook published by Audio-Forum in 1983 and pointed the other way from most of this shelf: the parenthetical in its title, "for Hmong speakers," means it teaches English to Hmong arrivals rather than Hmong to English speakers. That dates it precisely. 1983 is the middle of the largest wave of Hmong resettlement from the Thai camps, and material like this was made for people who had just landed. Audio-Forum sold it as part of a language course with tapes. No description survives in the catalog records.
