Walter Bisang

Walter Bisang is a linguist and professor at the University of Mainz whose work is comparative and typological, centering on Southeast and East Asian languages. His 1992 study compares verb use across Chinese, Hmong, Vietnamese, Thai and Khmer, treating serial verb constructions and grammaticalization as phenomena that cut across unrelated language families in the same region.
