Nicholas Tapp

Nicholas Tapp (1952-2015) was a British anthropologist and one of the most prolific Western scholars of Hmong society, publishing across four decades on Hmong communities in Thailand, China, Australia, and the wider diaspora. His range ran from accessible general accounts, often co-written with Hmong colleagues, to dense theoretical essays arguing with his own discipline about how identity and selfhood should be understood among a scattered people.
