Chia Youyee Vang

Chia Youyee Vang is a historian of the Hmong diaspora who came to the United States from Laos as a child refugee after the war. A professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, she has written and edited several books on Hmong American history, including Hmong America: Reconstructing Community in Diaspora, and has been central to building Hmong Studies as an academic field.
